Cancellation Policy and Terms and Conditions

Insurance Cover

To ensure compliance with BS 7121 (Safe Use of Cranes) we wish to bring to your attention the following regarding Insurance Cover required throughout the duration of hire. Any price quoted will NOT allow for automatic Insurance Cover.

We can offer two types of Hire as follows:

Crane Hire

You as the hirer are responsible for the following:

  • Loss of or damage to our plant whilst on site. We to advise value of plant at the time of hire.
  • Continuing hire charges whilst the plant is off the road for repairs following damage.
  • Injury to our driver/operator.
  • Injury to other parties, including damage to their property, arising from the crane operation.
  • Loss or damage to the goods being lifted.
  • Supply an appointed person / lift supervisor to whom our operator will report to on site.
  • Supply suitable slingers and signalers under the control of the lift supervisor.

Contract Lift

We supply appointed person, and all lifting personnel to take complete control of the lifting operation, and would include the following Insurance Cover.

Loss of or damage to plant and other property caused solely by the Owners negligence in the performance of the lifting contract subject to:

  • Maximum liability of £75,000 in respect of goods in transit.
  • Maximum liability of £5,000,000 in respect of loss or damage to other property and injury to persons.

Further Terms

Job prices can be negotiated for short duration hires, prior to the work being carried out.

When job prices are quoted this will be based on actual time on site, and will include travel time.

Cancellation

Full hire rate will be charged in the event of a cancellation of a confirmed order unless cancellation is made by 12pm the day before hire is due to commence.

Cancellations made due to adverse weather conditions or any other causes which are out of ACTA Crane Hire’s control while on site will be charged.

Disclaimer

As soon as an ACTA Crane Hire vehicle leaves the highway and is on or operating on private roads or private property, then ACTA Crane Hire is no longer responsible for any damages that may occur to the property or land.

If an ACTA Crane Hire vehicle becomes stuck whilst on your property, then it is the responsibility of the customer to pay for the full cost of recovery.
